This whole-home renovation was more than just an update—it was a decision point. The homeowners were torn: renovate or relocate. Their love for the neighborhood kept them rooted, but their home had lost its charm over the years. Originally a standard development build, the house had become dated in both layout and design. The challenge? Reimagine the space to feel like a custom home—one worth falling in love with all over again.
Touchstone’s design team accepted the challenge with enthusiasm, creating a cohesive, stylish, and highly functional home that exceeded expectations and convinced the homeowners to stay.
First Floor
The renovation began with a full overhaul of the first floor, including the kitchen, family room, powder room, office, and laundry room. Hardwood flooring was installed throughout, accompanied by fresh trim, new doors, and striking black hardware. The entire home was repainted, and wallpaper was used selectively to add warmth and character.
A bold new front door set the tone for what guests would find inside—a home with modern, timeless appeal and a custom-designed flow.
Family Room & Kitchen
A key priority for the homeowners was fixing an awkward corner sink layout. The cabinetry was reconfigured to create a straight, functional flow, which also allowed the addition of a large new window.
High-end paneled appliances, a larger island, and a custom maple wood hood became focal points in this elevated kitchen design.
Quartz countertops, modern cobblestone-shaped pendant lights, and maple cabinetry brought a perfect balance of polish and warmth, visually tying the space to the statement stone fireplace in the family room.
Dining Room
The dining room also received a sophisticated refresh. Existing wood trim and column accents were updated to better reflect the new design aesthetic.
Living Room
A fresh color palette was applied from ceiling to walls, tying the space into the overall first-floor continuity. These thoughtful updates helped blend the room effortlessly with adjacent spaces, enhancing the home’s custom feel.
Stairwells
A new staircase in the foyer and family room with wood risers and stained treads compliments the flooring and creates an elegant connection between the floors.
Office
Laundry Room
The laundry room got a much-needed upgrade. A drywall closet was replaced with beautiful cabinetry, floating shelves, and a glossy white tile backsplash. It’s now a welcoming space that makes coming in from the garage a pleasure.
Powder Room
The powder room and kitchen previously lacked cohesive design. Through thoughtful material selection and layout tweaks, these rooms were redesigned to flow seamlessly with the rest of the first floor.

Hall Bathroom
The hall bath underwent a dramatic shift, swapping out the traditional tub for a spacious walk-in shower. Nordic gray shower tile paired with hexagon accent walls and porcelain flooring created a modern yet approachable aesthetic. Custom maple cabinetry with honey bronze hardware added a warm, luxurious touch.
The homeowners couldn’t be happier with the results and the team behind them. Thrilled with the transformation, it finally feels like home to them.
This project is a testament to what’s possible when thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and homeowner vision come together. What was once a builder-grade house is now a timeless, custom-feel home built to last—and love—for years to come.
